What Is Cut-Off Time in a Parking Rate Notice

Last Updated On February 24, 2026

Cut-off time, in simple terms is a reset. The parking rate below states the 1st hour to be RM1.00, every subsequent hour RM1.50 and the maximum daily rate is RM8.00. At 12:00am, which is the cut-off time, the system resets and it starts back at 1st hour. Not all parking rates have this preset time, while at the same time, not all parking rates have it displayed.

Here’s an example where the cut-off time is not displayed. But based on the Per Entry (Sekali Masuk) period, which is from 5:00pm – 7:00am, we can tell that the cut-off time is at 7:00am, where the rates goes by the hours again.

Cut-off time is especially important to know when parking at car parks that offers Per Entry or Flat Rate charges only. For instance, parking charges at WEIL Hotel Ipoh is RM5.00 Flat Rate with a cut-off time at 12:00AM. Entering the car park at 11:00PM and parking for just 2 hours here, despite it clearly stating RM5.00 Flat Rate, will cost you RM10.00 simply because of this 12:00AM cut-off time.
