The 40-year-old Bayview Hotel Georgetown closed its doors in mid-2026 for a major RM92.2 million renovation and rebranding. The iconic hotel on Lebuh Farquhar is scheduled to reopen in 2028 as Oakwood Georgetown Penang under The Ascott Limited. In spite of that, car park at Wisma Boon Siew is still open to public as usual.
